Charder Sniffs Out a Bluff

Anthony Spinella raised to 10,000 on the button, and Dmitry Motorov called out of the small blind. Then in the big blind, Christian Harder squeezed to 36,500. Both players called to see the flop - {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. After all that preflop aggression, action checked around postflop. The {a-Hearts} turn got things going again. Motorov checked, and Charder bet 16,500, about one seventh of the pot. Spinella folded, and Motorov called. The {3-Hearts} on the river completed a flush draw, and Motorov took the opportunity to fire 80,000 at the pot.

Charder tanked for several minutes, uttering a frustrated curse or two. Finally, he convinced himself to make the call. Motorov could only show {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for just a pair of ducks. And Charder was rewarded handsomely for his bold call with {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}.

Motorov fell to 272,000, while Charder moved up to 390,000.
