Johnston Runs Into Aces

Berry Johnston
Berry Johnston

Berry Johnston raised to 25,000 in early position and was reraised by the player on the button to 100,000. Johnston gave it some thought before folding. The button showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and said, "What you knew I had."

"I had ace-queen of hearts," Johnston replied.

"I wish I'd known, I'd have just called," chimed the button. Johnston is still sitting strong with about 150,000.

Great Scott!

The player in Seat 2 raised to 22,000 and Thomas Scott reraised to 50,000 from the small blind. Seat 2 made the call and the two saw a flop of {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}.

Scott didn't take long to move all in for about 140,000, which sent Seat 2 into the tank. After a minute or two Seat 2 flipped the {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} into the muck. Scott is up to about 260,000.

Tough Decision for Spadavecchia

John Spadavecchia raised to 25,000 from the hijack position and was met with an all in reraise for 55,000 more by Edward Dubrovich in the small blind.

Spadavecchia asked how much it was and thought about his decision as the dealer broke down the chips. Spadavecchia seemed conflicted and as though he wanted to call, but he took a deep breath and flicked his cards in the muck.

Spadavecchia is sitting with about 125,000.
