River Chases Jace

Clement Thumy opened for 8,500 from the hijack seat and got two callers from the blinds -- Daryl Jace (SB) and Albert Minnullin (BB).

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Jace led for 15,000, Minnullin called, and Thumy folded. The turn was the {A-Hearts}, and after pausing about a half-minute Jace put the rest of his 35,000 in the middle. Minnullin took four minutes contemplating what to do. To call and lose would leave him just 30,000 behind. Finally he did make the call.

Jace flipped over {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for the turned pair of aces, while Minnullin tabled {Q-Spades}{2-Spades}. But the river brought a saving {2-Hearts} for Minnullin, giving him two pair and knocking Jace out.

Minnulin now has 155,000.
