Oops For O'Dwyer

A player under the gun opened to 475 and received two callers before Steven O'Dwyer re-raised to 1,875 on the button. The original raiser shoved for 6,225 and action folded back to O'Dwyer who went into the tank. After a few minutes of painful thinking, O'Dwyer made a crying call and opened {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

His opponent spiked {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} onto the felt and screamed, "Hold!"

The man indeed held after the board ran {3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts}, and O'Dwyer slipped to 6,500 chips.

The turn was the {j-Diamonds} and again Ramdin check-called a bet - this one was 1,625.

The {a-Clubs} rivered and Ramdin checked a third time. His opponent bet 5,625 and Ramdin folded.

His opponent opened {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for an air-ball and Ramdin is left with 24,000 chips.

Ramdin Advances

Victor Ramdin has wrapped up his heads up match thanks to a little bit of luck.

Ramdin had his opponent all in preflop holding {a-}{j-}. He was behind his opponent's {a-}{q-}, but the turn brought a jack and Ramdin will return for Day 2 tomorrow.

Two Pair for Obrestad

Don't make me play the whole tournament blind.
Don't make me play the whole tournament blind.

In a limped pot, the flop fell {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Annette Obrestad check-called 350 from an opponent on the button.

The turn was the {j-Spades} and Obrestad check-called 400.

The {q-Hearts} rivered, both people checked and Obrestad opened {j-Clubs}{7-Spades} for two pair. Her opponent showed {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and mucked sending the pot to Obrestad.

The 21-year-old Norwegian poker pro is now up to 29,500 chips.

Khan, Smith Out

Hevad Khan was all in preflop holding {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and was racing against an opponent's {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

The board ran {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Khan hit the rail.

At a nearby table Gavin Smith was also all in preflop. Smith's {a-}{j-} was behind an opponent's {a-}{k-} and did not improve eliminating him as well.
