Hellmuth Doubles

Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

We caught up with action on the flop as every other table had already gone on break. Phil Hellmuth checked to flop of {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} to Ben Lamb. He fired 5,200 then Alan Cutler called. Ryan Yamasaki was next and raised to 25,400. Hellmuth tanked for a while before calling all in for 20,100 total. Lamb folded and then Cutler folded as well, leaving just Hellmuth and Yamasaki heads up for the turn and river.

Yamasaki held the {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, but was behind the {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} of Hellmuth, who had flopped a full house.

The turn was the {4-Clubs} and the river the {7-Hearts}, keeping Hellmuth's boat best and more than doubling him up to 64,000 in chips. Yamasaki dropped to 47,000.
