Mattern Earns Chip Lead

Arnaud Mattern
Arnaud Mattern

Arnaud Mattern raised to 700 under the gun, and Martin Kabrhel reraised him to 2,100 on the button. Mattern called to see the {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop, which he checked. Kabrhel bet 1,800, and Arnaud called. After the {8-Hearts} turn, he check-called another 4,200. The river brought the {6-Clubs}, and Mattern checked a third street. Kabrhel put Mattern all in, and this time, it was an easy call for Mattern. He'd rivered a set with {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. He didn't need it though, as all Kabrhel had was {10-Spades}{7-Spades} for a missed gutshot. Thanks to Kabrhel's steal attempt, Mattern is now the chip leader with 46,000. Kabrhel fell all the way down to 15,000.
