Power is Back

At about 1:45 am, the power suddenly went out in the Amazon Room. Being that there are no windows and the emergency power failed for a few seconds, it was completely pitch black dark. The tournament staff ordered the dealers to stop and for players to protect their chips. Still, some players couldn’t help but joke.

“PokerNews . . . PokerNews says there is a new chip leader,” Jean Robert joked, “It’s Men Nguyen.” That filled the room with a mixed reaction of laughs and “ohhhhhs” and seemed to lighten the mood.

The back-up lights kicked in, but the room still remained relatively dark. Tournament staff announced a ten minute break to try and figure out the power situation as the main lights remained down. Luckily, the lights are back on and players are back in their seats. We are going to play one more level.
