A Staredown, but No Showdown for Santoro

No-Limit

Mike Santoro raised from late position, and Eli Elezra called to see a flop of {5-Spades} {10-Clubs} {3-Hearts}. Santoro continued out with a bet of 1,700 and Elezra promptly raised to 4,000. Santoro took his pause and raised it back to 7,700 straight. That left about 22,000 in front of him, and he would have to deal with a long, pointed gaze from Elezra.

Eli leaned forward over the table, and really glared at Santoro, while the latter sat still as a statue with his elbows on the rail and his hands tucked under his chin. Elezra cut out a stack of 20,000. Then he added another three or four yellows on top of the stack and shuffled the top half slowly. It was about three solid minutes of staring before Elezra broke his gaze, leaned back in his chair, and flicked his cards into the muck.

Elezra - 63,000
Santoro - 30,000
