69 Return to Mix It Up on Day 2

Eli Elezra

"Limit is killing me!"

That was the refrain we heard most often yesterday during the first day of play of Event #44, the $2,500 Mixed Hold'em event in which players alternate between a half-hour of no-limit hold'em and a half-hour of limit HE.

Of course, there were likely those who felt plenty comfortable during the limit rounds, for whom no-limit might have been "killing" them. Those limit guys, though, tend to be a little less vocal. For them, the complaints were generally more reserved, often variations of a similar theme: "I just can't pick up a hand."

It was a whirlwind day yesterday, with the field of 507 being whittled all of the way down to just 69. Eli Elezra bagged the most chips at day's end, followed closely by Jim "Mr_BigQueso" Collopy. The plan today will be to play ten levels or down to the final nine, whichever comes first.
