Devilfishing for a Double Up

Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott raised pot in early position and it folded right around to Rob Hollink in the big blind, who called.

Hollink checked the {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop to Devilfish, who promptly announced all in. Hollink folded, accidentally exposing the {a-Diamonds}.

Devilfish moved up to 320,000. Hollink dropped to 215,000.

Cameron McKinley Eliminated in 11th Place ($23,318)

Cam McKinley - 11th place
Cam McKinley - 11th place

The cards were already on their backs when we got to the table. The chips went in before the flop or on it.

Leif Force: {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Cameron McKinley: {4-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Board: {3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades}{5-Clubs}{a-Spades}

Force rivered an ace to crack McKinley's kings with two pair, aces and queens, and with his nut low he thus managed to scoop the pot.

Now we're down to ten, our remaining almost-finalists are taking a moment to all squash around one table.

Shak Relieves Bell of 200,000 Chips

Dan Shak was sitting in the small blind when Chris Bell opened from the cutoff for 60,000. Shak re-raised pot, to a total of 200,000 straight. Bell tanked for more than a minute before finally calling. Shak called "pot" on a flop of {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades}. Pot was 420,000, more than Shak had left in his stack. Bell again thought about his decision, but not for as long as he did pre-flop. He eventually folded. Shak flashed {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a flopped straight as he collected the pot.

Seidel & Devilfish Chop, 11 Players Remain

Did you ever fish with the devil?
Did you ever fish with the devil?

Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott opened for 50,000 and Erik Seidel called behind to see an {8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop. Ulliott checked, Seidel bet 65,000 and Ulliott called.

They saw a {6-Hearts} turn and Ulliott immediately announced all in with a flourish of his hand. Seidel announced call with a nod.

Seidel: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for two pair, aces and nines
Ulliott: {2-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Spades} for the low

River: {k-Clubs}

They chopped it up, and our players remain 11 for the moment.

Shak's Aces Hold for a Big Double-Up

Perry Green's last final table at the WSOP was back in 1997, when he finished 3rd in a $3,000 pot-limit hold'em event. He has some work to do if he wants to make tonight's final table after recently doubling up Dan Shak.

Green opened to 40,000 pre-flop before Shak, in the small blind, raised pot to 136,000. Green asked how much the raise back to him was, then called to a flop of {j-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Shak immediately moved all in for 168,000 and Green called.

Shak: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}, a pair of aces and the nut low draw
Green: {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, the nut flush draw, a straight draw, and the second-nut low draw

Green wasn't able to catch any of his cards on the {3-Hearts} turn or the {10-Hearts} river. He was forced to pay a double-up to Shak, who now sits behind 610,000 in chips. Green himself is down to 275,000.
