Double Up for Shi

Chuan Shi
Chuan Shi

From under the gun, Owen Crowe opened the pot with a 115,000-chip raise. The action folded to Chuan Shi in the small blind, who popped it to 350,000.

Crowe moved all in and Shi called.

Showdown
Crowe: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Shi: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Shi doubled up. Crowe slipped to 3,225,000 and Shi is now up to 2,010,000 chips.

The Mighty Ducks Serve Jin

Wenlong Jin has been nursing his short stack for some time now, mostly folding as he waited out others' eliminations. He had pushed all in on a couple of occasions and got no callers, but just now he was all in again from the cutoff for 340,000 and Owen Crowe called from the big blind. Cards on their backs...

Crowe {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Jin {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}

The flop came {3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, giving Crowe a flush draw to go with his overcards. The {K-Hearts} turn added a gutshot straight draw, too. But the river was the {4-Hearts}, and Jin's ducks survived.

Jin now has around 720,000, while Crowe has slipped back to 2.7 million.

Quiet Restart

No flops for the first half-dozen hands after dinner, with standard preflop raises being sufficient to take the pots.

Just prior to the break, Chuan Shi had closed the gap somewhat between himself and Owen Crowe and Shawn Busse, Now Wenlong Jin is sitting on the short stack and is looking ready to push any hand now.

Chop Chop

From the cutoff seat, Pekka Ikonen opened the pot with a 135,000-chip raise. On the button, Wenlong Jin moved all in for and additional 370,000 chips. Ikonen called.

Showdown
Jin: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Ikonen: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}

The board didn't change anything and they chopped the pot.

Jin For the Win

On the hand following that chop with Pekka Ikonen, Wenlong Jin was all in again, this time from the cutoff, and got a caller in Chuan Shi. Wenlong had picked up another baby pair -- {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} -- and was racing against Shi's {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

The flop came {3-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{A-Hearts}, and Jin was way ahead with his set. The {9-Clubs} on the turn meant the {J-Spades} river didn't matter. Jin doubled back to about 1.1 million, and Chi slipped to 1.525 million.

Preflop Pushing from Ikonen

Pekka Ikonen
Pekka Ikonen

The last two hands saw preflop three-bets from Pekka Ikonen, and both times the reraises were good enough for the Finnish player to take the pots.

On the first Chuan Shi raised to 150,000, and a 390,000 reraise from Pekka Ikonen chased Shi out. On the next, Owen Crowe made to 140,000 from the button, and Ikonen's reraise to 400,000 from the small blind did the trick again.

Ikonen moves up close to 1.6 million after those two hands.

Four to the Flop

Wenlong Jin limped in from the cutoff -- something we haven't seen much of at all at this final table -- and Chuan Shi called behind him on the button. Both blinds decided to come along as well, Shawn Busse in the small and Owen Crowe in the big.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}. It checked to Jin who bet 110,000 and only Crowe decided to stick around for more. The turn came the {A-Spades}, and both players checked.

The river then brought the {5-Spades}. Crowe fired 200,000 into the middle, and Jin thought a moment before letting it go.

Crowe is back out in front with about 2.9 million, and Jin has 1.42 million.
