Mattila With No Plans to Leave

Ville Mattila was all in for 590,000 preflop. Miguel Proulx called.

Showdown
Mattila: {3-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}
Proulx: {7-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {J-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}

The flop {Q-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {4-Clubs} made things awfully interesting as Proulx flopped two pair against Mattila's open-ended straight draw. Mattila paired on the {3-Clubs} turn to add a couple more outs, and the {8-Spades} on the river was Mattila's salvation. He filled in his straight, doubling over 1.3 million.

On the next hand, Mattila potted from the button, and Proulx called the 560,000 to see a flop from the big blind. It came {A-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {4-Clubs}, and Proulx made a covering pot-sized bet. Mattila called all in for 785,000, and the cards were turned up with Proulx having another chance at the knockout:

Mattila: {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} (top pair)
Proulx: {7-Spades} {8-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} (second pair)

The turn and river came {2-Spades} and {2-Hearts} respectively, and that's another full house and another double up for Mattila.
