Day 1 - Done

Marc Sander
Marc Sander

In eight short levels we have whittled our field down from 1,941 to less than 600.

The number on the board said 585 as the last three hands of the night were announced, so we will probably have ended up with just a few under that. Impressive stuff, but remember, the plan is to play down to a final table tomorrow, and with only 198 places paying out at all, we are looking at this tournament possibly even going to four days.

Our chip leader heading into Day 2 looks to be Marc Sander, on around 100,000. Plenty of big names are still in the field as well - Victor Ramdin, Dan Heimiller and Matt Hawrilenko are just a few of the folks still in with a shot at this, the last bracelet event before the Main Event. Among the folks who didn't make it were Daniel Negreanu, Roland de Wolfe and Joe Hachem.

We'll be back here at 3pm PT tomorrow when we will be starting out on the long road down to a final table. Join us back here then.
