Alawadhi Taking It Easy

The board read {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{6-Hearts} when we arrived, and Ali Alawadhi, who was all in for 56,700, was walking around the table, hands in his pockets, not really paying attention any more.

The reason for his loss of interest in his own tournament life was that his opponent, who had to make a decision, had already been tanking up for some time. "Wow," he was saying, "Wow wow wow." He put a chip on each of his cards. He got a Red Bull from a passing cocktail waiter. He asked the dealer to spread the pot. All this took five or six minutes. Eventually he folded, showing the {a-Spades}. Alawadhi showed him the {4-Hearts} and raked in the 150,000 pot.
