Big Fade for Hanks, Now Heads Up

Brent "bhanks11" Hanks
Brent "bhanks11" Hanks

Brent "bhanks11" Hanks faded a ton of outs against Maxim Lykov, and is now heads up with Josef Monro.

Monro limped on the button and Hanks raised from the small blind to 18,000, Lykov called in the big blind and Monro folded his button.

The flop fell {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Hanks led for 25,000. The next .0005 seconds went like this:

Lykov raise.
Hanks shove.
Lykov call.

Here were the hands:

Lykov: {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Hanks: {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Lykov had a ton of outs, but the {2-Spades} bricked on the turn and the {5-Diamonds} bricked on the river.

A few hands later Lykov was eliminated by Josef Monro.

The two got it all-in preflop and Lykov’s {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} was dominated by Monro’s {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

The board ran {5-Spades}{K-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Lykov was eliminated.

Hanks and Monro are now heads up, and after a quick double-up by Hanks the stacks look like this:

Hanks: 599,000 chips
Monro: 301,000 chips
