Akenhead Getting Short

From the cutoff seat, James Akenhead came in raising to 1,000. Cornel Andrew Cimpan called from the big blind, and it was heads up to the flop.

The dealer spread out {6-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}, and the action check-checked. On the {A-Spades} turn, Cimpan check-called a bet of 1,150, and both players checked again when the {A-Clubs} hit the river. Cimpan turned up {J-Clubs} {9-Spades}, and it was the best hand. Akenhead sent his cards into the muck, sliding his chip stack down to a dangerously short 2,500.

Cimpan, on the other hand, is doing just fine with 35,000 chips.
