Saul Ships it In

Kevin "Bel0wAb0ve" Saul opened to 300 from under the gun before a player on the button three-bet to 875. The blinds released and Saul called.

The dealer fanned {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Saul checked to his opponent who fired 1,175. Saul check-raised to 3,175 and his opponent called.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and Saul checked to his opponent again. He bet 5,225 and Saul cut out enough chips to make the call, riffling them with his right hand for a moment or two. Finally, he put them back into his stack and moved all in.

"Wow," Jamie Gold blurted from across the table.

Saul's opponent gave up on the hand, winning Saul the pot and chipping him up to 37,000.

Arias Back in Black

We arrived over at Jorge Arias' table to see him involved in a hand against two players on a flop reading {2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}.

Arias was in early position and bet 600 into the pot with both opponents (one in the cutoff and one on the button) calling.

The turn was the {2-Clubs} and Arias led out again, this time for 750. The player in the cutoff folded, but the player on the button raised to 2,200. Arias made the call and we were headed to the river.

The river came down {6-Hearts} and both players checked. Arias showed {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} and his opponent mucked his hand, showing a black jack.

With the winnings from that pot, Arias is now up to 32,700.

D'Agostino Recovering

With the board reading {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, John D'Agostino checked, before raising a bet of 375 (plus a subsequent call) to 1,575. The initial bettor called, the other player folded.

D'Agostino then took it down with a bet of 3,500 on the {8-Clubs} turn. As a result, he's back up to 22,000 after hitting a few early hurdles.

The Kost-ritsyn of Doing Business

The player under the gun raised to 300, and he was called by an opponent a few seats over in middle position. Alex Kostritsyn called too, and the big blind also came along for a four-way flop.

It rolled out {J-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {6-Clubs}, and action checked to Kostritsyn. He bet 800 before the initial raiser check-raised to 3,300 total. That folded the two players in the middle, but Kostritsyn promptly reraised to 9,300, and that was enough to get the job done.

That pot moves him back over his starting stack to 30,800.

Duthie Making Progress

We just caught the tail end of a pot as the river card came down onto a board of {7-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {A-Spades}. There was about 5,000 in the pot, and John Duthie led out with 4,500 chips. His opponent had apparently been calling the whole way, and he called one more time to see Duthie's cards.

Mr. Duthie showed {7-Clubs} {9-Hearts} for two pair, and that was the best hand. He dragged the pot, moving to 46,300 in the process. Duthie's been all over the place between 30,000 and 55,000 thus far today.

ElkY Fills Up, Gets Paid

The board read an daunting {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} when we caught up with the action on the turn. Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier bet around 2,000. His opponent, who had initially checked, called.

The river was the {4-Spades} and again the other player checked again. This time ElkY bet 3,150 and his opponent called and then immediately mucked to ElkY's {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a full house.

ElkY had taken a few hits before that, but is now back up to 27,000.

Pots that Mattern

Arnaud Mattern is down to a paltry 6,000 after losing several key pots.

The biggest one saw him reach a two-way {J-}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop where he bet, and his opponent called.

On the {K-Spades} turn, Mattern's opponent led for 800, triggering the Frenchman to apply the pressure with a raise to 2,100, which was subsequently called.

The {2-Hearts} river brought the flush in, and with Mattern's foe betting 3,000, Mattern turned his hand into a bluff by check-raising to 12,000.

After a long tank, the call was made, Mattern's second pair beaten by {6-}{5-} for the flopped two pair.

You Spindler Me Right Round

There was a raise to 275 from the gent in the hijack, and both the cutoff and the small blind called before Benny Spindler made it 1,200 from the big blind. Back to the hijack gent, who made it 3,200 to go. Both the callers folded, Spindler however called, and they went heads up to the flop.

Flop: {6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{q-Spades}

Spindler checked and his opponent bet 5,075. A call later and they were at the turn.

Turn: {4-Clubs}

Spindler checked again, and this time his opponent bet 9,000. Then began a lengthy spell in the tank for Spindler, which ended roughly five minutes later when he folded.

Spindler dropped back down to 31,000.

No One's Seif

We heard "all in and call" from Table 368 in the Amazon Room and rushed to catch the action.

When we arrived, the board read {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Mark Seif had {5-Spades}{2-Spades} laying in front of him. He was stacking chips to send across the table however, because his opponent had {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

Seif was crippled to just 1,150 chips.

The next hand, Seif was all in and found a caller in the blinds. Seif's {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} was trailing his opponent's {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and the board was dry until the {k-Clubs} popped up on the river, doubling him to 2,300.

Seif is still short, but he is alive nonetheless.
