Semi-Snap Folded

Adam Junglen earlier in the Series
Adam Junglen earlier in the Series

Adam Junglen might be one to look out for today - a young kid oozing with confidence and talent in equal measure. In fact, he'll be even higher in spirits now after taking down a pot and increasing his stack to 195,000.

The board read {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}, and after the big blind checked, Junglen bet 4,000 into a pot 7,000. His opponent repopped it to 8,000. "How much behind?" probed Junglen. "Seventeen," came the response. Junglen made the call.

After both players had checked the {7-Clubs} turn, Junglen opted to put his opponent all in on the {9-Clubs} river. After a couple of seconds, his opponent "semi-snap folded" - as our field reporter put it - and Junglen picked up the pot.

Kostritsyn Mucks

Alexander Kostritsyn raised under the gun to 2,600 and found one call in middle position to see a flop of {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Kostritsyn checked and then called a bet of 4,100 to see the {9-Hearts} turn. Both players checked and the {4-Hearts} hit the river. Kostritsyn led out for 13,000 and his opponent made the call, but Kostritsyn mucked when showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} for top pair. Kostritsyn slips to 241,000.

De Meulder Chips Up

Matthias De Meulder opened to 3,100 from early position and found a caller in the cutoff before the player on the button bumped it to 10,300.

De Meulder made the call as the cutoff folded before the dealer dropped a {k-Hearts}{5-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop. De Meulder check-called his opponent's 12,600-chip bet before both players checked the {9-Clubs} and {9-Spades} on the turn and river.

De Meulder tabled his {K-Spades}{J-Clubs} and his opponent mucked to see the Belgian collect the pot to move to 235,000 in chips.

Seidel Busto

Down to 8,000 chips, Erik Seidel opened all in from the button. When the small blind called, Seidel opened two lives cards, {j-Spades}{3-Spades}, against the small blind's {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Nobody improved on a king-high board. Seidel's 2010 Main Event is over.

Cantu Back in a Happy Place

Brandon Cantu, from Day 1b
Brandon Cantu, from Day 1b

Brandon Cantu just enjoyed a well-timed double-up.

We only saw the aftermath, with a board showing {2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{5-Spades}, Cantu having tabled {6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, and a table full of players laughing about something. Well, all but one were laughing.

Cantu moves back up to 115,000.

Fish Hit by Murder, Inc.

Darryll Fish had rebuilt his stack to 30,000 when he got it in with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}. Irv "Gotti" Lorenzo, played the enforcer with {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. The {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop gave Fish a straight draw, but Gotti picked up a dangerous flush draw. And the {2-Diamonds} on the turn gave Gotti the nuts and had Fish drawing dead. He made his exit after the {k-Clubs} on the river, and Gotti, founder of the record label Murder, Inc., stacked up 115,000.

Magriel Puts Flopped Set to Work

Paul Magriel and an opponent got all the chips in the middle when a flop came down {6-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Magriel had bet the flop and called his opponent's all-in raise.

Magriel: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Opponent: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Magriel has flopped a set, which put him well ahead of the all-in player's kings. The turn was the {3-Clubs}, folowed by the {q-Diamonds} on the river. With the elimination, Magriel is now up to 200,000 chips.

Sibling Rivalry

Eric Mizrachi returned to an above-average stack of 140,400 today. That would probably seem more special if not for the fact that three of his brothers also returned to today. And in fact all three of his brothers -- Michael, Robert, and Daniel -- came back to stacks of more than 200,000!

We just saw a small hand with Eric in which he and opponent checked down all three streets, with the final board showing {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. Mizrachi showed {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and his queen was good enough to give him the 8,000-chip pot.

Mizrachi has 148,000 now, very good relative to the rest of the field, but still trailing his brothers.

Franklin Survives

Captain Tom Franklin was just all in for his last 14,000 before the flop with {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} and up against an opponent's {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

The community cards came {6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, and Franklin survived. Franklin -- who once finished seventh in the WSOP Main Event (in 1995) -- now sits with about 30,000.
