Rosenblum's Jacks Go Down

Russell Rosenblum raised to 6,000 from under the gun and the player in the big blind called to see a flop come {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. The big blind checked and Rosenblum fired 8,200. His opponent raised all in for 62,900 and Rosenblum made the call.

Rosenblum held the {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} and his opponent the {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and the river the {K-Clubs}. Rosenblum's jacks went down to his opponent's full house and he sent over the chips.

Selbst Trending Upwards

There was about 40,000 in the pot when we walked up to a flop of {3-Spades} {3-Hearts} {7-Spades}. The small blind bet 15,500, and the next player raised to 45,500 total. Vanessa Selbst overcalled from the button, and the small blind ducked out of the way to let the other two go heads up the rest of the way.

The turn came the {A-Hearts}, and the raiser checked. Selbst thought and thought for a good long while before checking it back. That brought them to the {Q-Spades} river, and Selbst stuck out a very healthy bet of 120,000 chips. Her opponent shook his head and open-mucked {K-} {K-} with a, "So sick!"

Selbst is up to 405,000 courtesy of that no-showdown pot.

Liu Can't Pull a Spade out of her Hat

With about 9,000 in the pot, the flop fell {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts}. The small blind checked to JJ Liu, and she obliged with a bet of 7,000. He then pulled out the check-raise, making it 20,000 to see the turn. Liu flatted, leaving herself exactly 6,200 behind. The turn was the {k-Hearts}, and the small blind bet enough to cover Liu. She called all in with {7-Spades}{6-Spades} for a flush draw and needed to hit to stay alive against her opponent's {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. The {6-Diamonds} on the river gave her a pair, but it wasn't enough, and Liu and her giant hat were dispatched to the rail.

Tran Turns Up the Pressure

Theo Tran has been active on Orange 310 to start today. Sitting in late position, he was the only player to call Joshua Weizer's pre-flop raise to 5,000. Tran called another 11,500 on a flop of {4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. When the board started to straighten out with the {5-Diamonds} turn and Weizer bet another 17,500, Tran opted to raise to 37,500. Weizer considered the raise for about a minute before calling.

The board became even more connected when the river fell {8-Spades}. Weizer checked and was soon facing a bet of 55,000 from Tran.

"I know you know what I have," Weizer mused aloud. Tran said nothing until after Weizer folded.

"Yeah, I had to turn my hand into a bluff," Tran replied as he flashed {j-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Dewey Done and Dusted

Following a button raise to 4,800 and a call from the small blind, Dewey Tomko moved all-in for 85,000 from the big blind. The button folded and the small blind called.

It was a classic race, with Tomko's {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} up against pocket eights. He got no help on the board, however, his opponent's pair holding up to send the two-time Main Event runner-up to the rail.

Gomilaromero Deception

Jonathan Karamalikis opened it up to 5,500 from early position with Bartolome Gomilaromero making the call. These two had already tangled earlier in the day so we were expecting fireworks as the two blinds also came along to see a flop of {9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}.

Play checked to Gomilaromero who bet out 11,000. The small blind called before Tyler Kenney check-raised to 31,500 from the big blind. Karamalikis folded, Gomilaromero called and the small blind got out of the way.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Kenney let go with another 55,600 but Gomilaromero quickly called to see the {8-Clubs} fall on the river. Both players slowed down and tapped the table.

Kenney opened {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for just top pair but it wasn't enough as Gomilaromero showed {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}. Gomilaromero is up to 440,000 with Kenney back to 220,000.

He Can Play Too

Iconic poker television producer Mori Eskandani is in the Day 4 field with an above-average stack of 230,000. He was in the big blind for a raise to 6,000 made by Corwin Cole. Eskandani called. He and Cole checked the {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} flop and the {5-Clubs} turn. When the river came {4-Clubs}, Eskandani worldlessly threw an orange (T5,000) chip into the pot. Cole called the bet but couldn't beat a pair of fives, {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

Shulman Stumbles

On the turn Barry Shulman checked the action over to his opponent on the button who released a bet of 36,000. The board read {3-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Spades} and Shulman committed a call before again checking the {Q-Hearts} river. His opponent went with another bet of 50,000. Shulman looked him up but mucked when his opponent showed {J-Clubs}{J-Spades} for a set of jacks.

Shulman slips to 143,000.

Humberto Takes a Hit

Catching the action on the turn on a board of {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}, Humberto Brenes fired a bet of 17,000 with his opponent making the call as the {9-Diamonds} completed the board on the river.

Again it was checked to Brenes who fired 27,000. His opponent looked him up with a call and showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. It was too good for Brenes as he tossed his cards into the muck. Brenes slips to 78,000.
