Efren Garcia Eliminated in 10th Place ($34,473)

Efren Garcia - 12th Place
Efren Garcia - 12th Place

As Jeffrey Papola began to unrack his chips after being balanced from the other table, George Jalkotzy raised from under the gun to 35,000 before Efren Garcia reraised all-in from the button. Eddie Blumenthal folded his small blind and Papola went right back to his chips after quickly folding his hand from the big blind. Jalkotzy snap-called.

Jalkotzy: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Garcia: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

Garcia managed to pick up an open-ended straight draw on the turn, with the board reading {J-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, but the dealer produced the {Q-Diamonds} on the river and that gave Garcia his cue to depart the Amazon Room in 12th place.

Sean Grover Eliminated in 11th Place ($25,816)

From under the gun, Sean Grover raised to 35,000. Alexander Wice flat-called from the button and then action folded to Eddie Blumenthal in the big blind. He moved all in. Grover quickly made the call with about 500,000 behind to put himself at risk and then Wice folded.

Grover: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Blumenthal: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The board ran through {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Grover whiffed. He was eliminated in 11th place and earned over $25,000. Blumenthal now has about 1.3 million in chips.

Ryan Welch Eliminated in 12th Place ($25,816)

Ryan Welch - 12th Place
Ryan Welch - 12th Place

As the PokerNews Live Reporting Team were circling the tables to update the chip counts, we found ourselves front and center for Ryan Welch's elimination in 12th place ($25,816).

Having been crippled in a massive hand earlier, Welch got the last of his money into the middle before the flop with {K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, only to run into George Jalkotzy's {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Welch did manage to hit top pair on the flop of {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{2-Clubs} and then improve to two pair with the repeat {Q-Diamonds} on the turn, but he reeled in disgust after the {J-Spades} spiked on the river to give Jalkotzy Broadway.

Vamplew and Welch Clash Big

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

While the other two tables paused in order to wait for the redraw, Ryan Welch and David Vamplew played a massive pot on the middle table.

George Jalkotzy raised to 27,000 and then Welch reraised to 75,000 from the small blind. Vamplew four-bet from the big blind to 171,000 and Jalkotzy got out of the way. Welch thought for a minute and then moved all in. Vamplew called quickly with the {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Welch held the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}.

The board ran out {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Welch lost the massive coinflip. Vamplew was all in for 903,000 and now has over 1.8 million in chips. Welch was crushed way back to just 160,000.

From the cutoff position, Bryan Colin raised to 24,000. Darren Wong three-bet to 61,000 from the big blind and Colin flatted in position to see the flop come down {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Wong checked right away and Colin fired 40,000. Wong made the call.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} and Wong checked again. Colin fired 155,000. Wong asked for the amount, received a count and then called. He only had approximately 255,000 behind when he called Colin's turn bet.

The river completed the board with the {Q-Hearts} and Wong checked. "About 70 behind," said Wong as Colin paused. "You bet it, I call." Wong had about 100,000 behind, a bit more than he estimated, but that didn't scare Colin from announcing all in. Wong quickly snapped him off and tabled the {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. Colin rolled over the {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a flush and won the hand.

Stunned, Wong paced away from the table and back before collecting his pay stub and heading to the payout desk. His finish was worth $19,802.

Vamplew Casts a Spell on Jalkotzy

British Harry Potter-lookalike David Vamplew is now pushing close to one million in chips after taking down a sizeable pot against George Jalkotzy.

We picked up the action three-handed on a flop that read {A-Clubs}{2-Spades}{K-Spades}; Alexander Wice checked out of the blinds, as did Jalkotzy before Vamplew bet from the button. Wice folded and Jalkotzy called, so it was heads-up to the turn of the {2-Diamonds}, where Jalkotzy check-called Vamplew's bet of 97,000.

On the river of the {7-Spades}, Jalkotzy checked again and Vamplew announced that he was all-in. After about four minutes in the tank, Jalkotzy let his hand go.
