"Of Course I'm Calling"

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

With the board already showing {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}, Kenichi Takarabe bet 11,000 and Nicholas Blumenthal called. The {6-Spades} hit on the river and Takarabe declared all in. Blumenthal snap-called and the hands were revealed.

Takarabe: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Blumenthal: {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}

Takarabe seemed to be trying to pull a fast one on the river and was none too happy to find that Blumenthal had flopped a straight. Blumenthal said "Of course I'm calling there, but I didn't like the river." The river did pair the board but didn't help Takarabe, who was eliminated.

After the hand Blumenthal had a mountain of chips in front of him totaling around 195,000.

More Bustouts!

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Players have been dropping like flies ever since we hit the money here in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em / Six Handed.

Phuc Chau busted when he went all in preflop and his {J-Clubs}{9-Spades} lost to the {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts} of Clayton Newman on a {7-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} board.

One of our overnight chip leaders, Anders Taylor, took out Tod Holley with {A-Spades}{K-Spades} vs. {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} on a board of {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Taylor is up to 121,500.

Other players to have recently busted are Jeremy Maher, Johnny Woolen, Phillip Meulyzer and Kenichi Takarabe.

Naquin: {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Loh: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Naquin doubled his stack to 83,000 while Loh's stack dropped to around 97,500.

Klein Eliminates Elias

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

With the board reading {6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Geffrey Klein checked the action to Darren Elias who bet 3,700. Klein then raised to 7,500 and Elias called. The turn brought the {a-Diamonds} and Klein bet 12,000 which Elias called. The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Klein moved all in. Elias decided to call, putting his tournament life at risk, and when Klein showed the {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a rivered flush, Elias mucked his hand and headed to the payout table.

Check Call, Check Call, Check Call, Win!

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Chip leader Anthony Spinella raised to 2,300 from under the gun and was called by Moshin Charania from the big blind. The flop came {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Charania checked, Spinella bet 3,500 and Charania called. The turn brought the {3-Diamonds} and again Charania check-called a bet of 8,700 from Spinella. The river was the {10-Clubs} and Charania once again opted to check-call Spinella's bet of 16,500.

Charania showed {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for two pair and Spinella mucked his hand.

They're Dropping Like Flies!

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

It is carnage in the Amazon Room right now, so much so that our field reporter returned with a stack of PokerNews Tournament ID cards about two inches thick. Here's just a small sample of the bust-outs we were able to witness:

Daniel Buzgon was crippled after losing a crucial flip with {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} against Peter Jetten's {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} when a queen hit on the river. Left with just 1,600 in chips, he moved those all-in the very next hand with {Q-Spades}{2-Clubs} after a preflop raise from Seth Hilleren. Hilleren snap-called with {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Buzgon was gone after the board was spread {K-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Spades}{A-Diamonds}.

Denise Molloy was then eliminated at the hands of Michael Hallen after she moved the last of her money in preflop with {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, but failed to improve against Hallen's {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. Both paired their ace on the flop but that wasn't enough for Molloy.

And earlier, Karl Mahrenholz moved all-in before the flop with {8-}{8-} and found himself well ahead of Jeffrey Papola's {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, but Papola managed to bink a set of fours on the river. All three players have also joined Gabriel Andrade, Derrick Yamada, Michael Minetti and Karl Pirkopf on the rail.
