Negreanu Quartered

Level 6 : 300/600, 0 ante

Gary Bolden, Daniel Negreanu, and two other players saw a flop of {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Bolden checked, Negreanu bet and found two callers - including Bolden. The turn was the {8-Spades}, and the action repeated itself.

When the {3-Diamonds} fell on the river, Bolden led out. Negreanu and third player called.

Bolden: {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades} High and Low
Negreanu: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} Low
Third Player: Mucked

Buss Carries Away Shchemelev

Level 7 : 400/800, 0 ante

Also just before the break...

Vladimir Shchemelev was all in before the flop against two players, and Jerry Buss and Ronald Ware were mixed up for the side pot. The board ran out {8-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}, and Buss got bets in on all three streets. Ware called him down, turning up {A-Hearts} {2-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}. He'd get nothing, and neither would Shchemelev. Buss' {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} {4-Clubs} {5-Clubs} was good enough for the scoop, sending the Russian to the rail here on Day 1.

Bari Folds Big Hand

Winner of Event #4, Allen Bari is among our chip leaders this evening, and he just made a big fold at his table in the back of the Pavillion Room.

The board read {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} when we reached the table, and Bari was heads-up with an unknown opponent. The player check-called a bet from Bari, and then check-raised him after the {k-Spades} fell on the river. Bari mucked {a-}{5-} face-up, and his opponent claimed to have {k-}{k-}{5-}{x-}.
