Back and Forth, Back and Forth. Fischer Finally Takes It.

Level 5 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Daniel Fischer had about a two to one chip lead on Giorgio Medici until this hand.

The two got it all in preflop, Fischer showing {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Medici showing {K-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. The board ran out {4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{K-Spades} and Medici spiked a king on the river to take the chip lead two to one for himself.

Only a few hands later, the two were at it again. They got it all in preflop, Fischer holding {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Medici holding {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} with the board running out {7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Hearts} giving Fischer 231,200 and Medici 218,800.

A few hands later, we came in when Medici was paying off Fischer after, according to Medici, he flopped two pair. But Fischer had {J-Hearts}{6-Spades} with the board running out {8-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{K-Hearts} for a turned straight. At that point, Fischer had 449,500 chips leaving Medici with only one 500 chip for the tournament.

Obviously, Medici was all in before the hand even began, but he had {3-Hearts}{J-Spades} vs. Fischer's {6-Spades}{5-Clubs} and the board ran {7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} to give Fischer a flopped straight, but the turn and river were {3-Spades}{4-Spades} to give a rivered full house to Medici for the win! Obviously, Medici had very little hope even after his double up to a whopping 1,000 chips and he was eliminated the next hand to give Fischer the table.
