Paasonen Doubles through Rast

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Mika Paasonen announced a pot-sized raise for 70,000 from middle position and Brian Rast reraised to 120,000 on Paasonen's direct left. Action folded back around to Paasonen who went all in for his remaining 6,000. Rast flung in a call.

Rast: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Paasonen: {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The flop came {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}, which actually improved Paasonen's chances with an open-ended straight draw even though Rast caught a set.

The turn came a {A-Spades} and the river brought a {8-Spades}, filling Paasonen's straight and doubling him up to approximately 260,000.

Eslami Dips, Rast Soars Over 1.5 million

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Brian Rast opened to 45,000 and Allen Kessler made the call from the button before Ali Eslami slid out a three-bet amounting to 130,000.

Both Rast and Kessler made the call as the dealer spread a {3-Spades}{K-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop which brought about a continuation-bet of 170,000 from Eslami. Rast smooth-called from a few seats over before Kessler released his hand and the {9-Hearts} was produced on the turn.

Taking the passive route of checking, Eslami would then be faced with a bet of just 56,000 from Rast. Eslami considered all his options before making the call as the river of the {A-Clubs} completed the board.

Eslami checked and Rast pushed out 193,000, which after nearly four minutes of tanking, resulted in Eslami folding his hand to slip to 265,000 while Rast climbs to 1,525,000 in chips.
