Lake Sinks Bach

Level 18

Stud:

We caught a hand involving Scott Lake and David Bach, winner of the $50K H.O.R.S.E. Championship at the 2009 WSOP.

Bach: (X)(X) - {3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Lake: (X)(X) - {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

On third street Bach bet 4,000 and Lake made the call. Fourth street saw Bach check and Lake fire a bet of 8,000 into the pot. Bach made the call and on fifth street Lake led out again. This time Bach decided to raise it up, making it 16,000 to go. Lake came along and both players checked it down on sixth street.

After receiving their final down cards on seventh street both Bach and Lake tapped the table, and Lake announced "eights and nines" while flipping up his {9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} down cards. This was good enough to force a muck by Bach and Lake chipped up nicely in the hand.
