Pilgrim Plundered by "The Henchman"

2009 WSOP Circuit Rincon champion Dwyte Pilgrim won't be able to add a bracelet to his championship ring after having been eliminated by Zachary Hench.

All the money was in the middle preflop; Pilgrim was the short stack and had moved in with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, but ran smack into Hench's {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

Neither hand improved on the board of {6-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Pilgrim's now off to an early (and permanent dinner break).

Ellis Moving Up with Grace

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Jordan Young was under the gun and opened for 5,100, Ronald Stubing called directly behind him and Helen Ellis called from late position as well. The flop hit {7-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}, Young slid out 7,600, Stubing raised to 18,000, Ellis called the 18,000 and Young folded very reluctantly.

The turn brought the {A-Spades} and was checked by Stubing and Ellis. The river came {3-Diamonds} and Stubing checked to Ellis. She roughly counted and commented that their stacks were about the same. Ellis then moved all in and Stubing let his hand go. Ellis is up to 114,000.

Big Stacks Battle

Two of the biggest stacks in the room are sitting at the same table and were involved in a hand. Nicholas Rampone raised to 4,300 and Jeffrey Papola reraised to 12,000. Rampone made the call.

The flop ran out {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Papola led out with 12,000 and Rampone folded.

Both players sit near the top of leader board with over 150,000 in chips.

Lane Drops to Thomassie

We caught the action heads-up between Dylan Thomassie and Jonathan Lane on a flop of {9-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}; Lane checked to Thomassie who led out for 6,600. Lane called, then both players checked down both the turn of the {Q-Hearts} and the river {K-Spades}.

Lane tabled {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, but was no good against Thomassie, who had rivered a bigger two pair with his {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.
