Dunst Falling Fast

Level 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

After having lost half his chips just before the dinner break, Dunst found himself in another tough situation. He raised to 700 from middle position before another opponent moved all in for 3,275. Dunst asked for the count and called, once again putting half his stack at risk.

Dunst: {9-}{9-}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and the pot was shipped away from Dunst. "I'm playing your game now," he said to the player who had just beat him. Dunst is referring to the fact that he has about the same chip stack as his opponent just had with 3,425.

Giant Killer

Before the dinner break we reported to you that there was a table of death in the Rio with Liv Boeree, Jonathan Little, John Phan, and Lars Bonding. What once was four is now just two thanks to Chris Dombrowski. He knocked out Boeree in that {A-}{K-} vs. {Q-}{Q-} hand, and he just took out Lars Bonding in this following hand.

A player in late position raised preflop to 750, Dombrowski in the cutoff re-raised to 1,825 and Lars Bonding re-raised all in for around 9,000 from the button. The original raiser folded and Dombrowski snap-called with {A-}{A-}. Bonding was in tough shape with {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and the board of {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades} was no help as he was sent to the rail. Dombrowski now has around 50,000 and is no doubt one of the chip leaders in the tournament

Kicker Helps Veldhuis Bust One

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

On a {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} board, the lone opponent of Lex Veldhuis checked-called the 675 bet of Veldhuis leaving himself just 1,000 left.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and the player checked again. Veldhuis now pondered his decision and told the player, "You're confusing me now." Regardless, Veldhuis threw in enough chips to force the player all in and got a call. Each player had a pair of nine's, but it was the seven kicker for Veldhuis that had him in the lead against the four kicker of his opponent. The river bricked with the {5-Hearts} and the opponent was sent packing.

Veldhuis now has 23,500 chips.

Dunst is Done

Level 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

Tony Dunst, with 3,150 behind, raised to 900 and received four callers. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and Dunst shipped for 2,200. One player called and the hands were turned up. Dunst held {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} and had his opponent's {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} drawing to a ten or diamonds. The turn {4-Spades} bricked the draw but the {10-Spades} nailed it sending Dunst to the rail.
