Chiu Gets There But Folds

Level 9 : 400/800, 0 ante
David Chiu Folds Broadway
David Chiu Folds Broadway

Under the gun, David Chiu raised to 1,800 and got called by the cutoff and big blind. The flop came {4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and the first player checked to Chiu who bet 4,200. The player in position made the call and the third player got out of the way.

The turn was the {k-Spades} and both players checked. The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Chiu quickly checked again. After some thought, the player in position put in about two-thirds of his stack with a bet around 11,000. Chiu quickly flashed {a-}{q-} for a broadway strait before mucking his hand.

As the hand was being played, the remaining players were putting their chips in some racks as the table was being broken. While it may have influenced Chiu's decision to fold so quickly, he won't have the opportunity to get his chips back for the time being.
