Corkins Nearly Doubles With “No Pair”

Hoyt Corkins raised in early position and Steve Landfish called from the big blind. On the {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, Landfish check-raised Corkins who called. Landfish led out when the {A-Spades} hit the turn and Corkins called again which left himself with less than one big bet left. Both players checked the {10-Spades} river and Landfish announced “no pair”. Corkins turned over {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for the nut no pair and would at least chop the pot. Landfish flashed the {K-Clubs} before he mucked and Corkins nearly doubled.
