Not so Crazy Pot for Crazy Mike

Level 4 : 400/800, 0 ante

Action folded to "Crazy Mike" Thorpe on the button and he gave a little speech before putting in a raise. The small blind folded, but the player in the big blind opted to defend. When the flop fell {K-Spades}{2-Spades}{J-Spades}, the big blind check-folded to a Thorpe bet. Not so crazy how that one played out.

Shorr Quite Slick

Level 4 : 400/800, 0 ante

Shannon Shorr raised on the button with Phil Laak and Jeff Shulman calling from the blinds. It was checked to Shorr who bet on the {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop. Shulman came back with a check-raise, Laak got out of the way, and Shorr called. Shulman check-called Shorr’s bets on the {6-Diamonds} turn and {10-Hearts} river and Shorr showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} which was good as Shulman mucked.

Poker Fashion

Level 3 : 300/600, 0 ante

Amongst the sea of generic hoodies and poker logos that tend to dominate the clothing of most players, it's always fun to see some interesting t-shirts.

Dan Heimiller is sporting a shirt that features a picture of Christopher Walken as Bruce Dickenson from the 2000 SNL skit that created the catchphrase, "more cowbell."

Erick Lindgren's shirt features the logo of the "Book It!" program, a reading incentive program for young children. We're wondering if Lindgren, known to make a few prop bets in his day, just points to his shirt when offered a juicy prop bet by a fellow player.

Ever wonder who has won the most bracelets over the last five years? We can tell you that he is playing in today's field.

No doubt Lisandro is looking to pull away from the pack and snag his sixth bracelet; unfortunately for him, none of his previous five have come in the hold'em variety.

Big Blind Special Against Ike

Level 3 : 300/600, 0 ante

Isaac Haxton raised from the cutoff and the big blind made the call. On the {J-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop, Haxton got check-raised and called. The big blind led out when the {2-Hearts} hit the turn and Haxton raised. The big blind made it three-bets and Haxton just called. On the {Q-Spades} river, the big blind bet once more and Haxton called only to be shown the {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} of the big blind for flopped top two which was good as Haxton mucked.

Defending Champ in the House

Level 3 : 300/600, 0 ante

The defending champion of this event, Matt Keikoan, has taken his seat, much to the dismay of his tablemates. Who are they? You might remember us telling you earlier about Table 128:

Seat 1- Chris Tryba
Seat 2- Rob Hollink
Seat 4- Dan Heimiller
Seat 7- Erick Lindgren
Seat 8- Jennifer Harman

Add Seat 9 to that list . . . Matt Keikoan.

Little Takes Down a Little Pot

Level 3 : 300/600, 0 ante

Ari Engel raised from middle position and Jonathan Little three bet on the button. The player in the small blind then four-bet, both Engel and Little called, and the flop came down {8-Spades}{J-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. The small blind led out, Engel folded, and Little made the call.

The same action occurred on the {7-Diamonds} turn, leading to the {4-Spades} on the river. This time both players checked and the small blind flipped over {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Little could beat that as he confidently turned over {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.

Crazy Mike Continues to Roll

Level 3 : 300/600, 0 ante

Mike Thorpe raised from early position and received calls from the hijack, cutoff and button. On the {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, Thorpe led out with and only the hijack got out of the way. Thorpe bet again when the {K-Hearts} hit the turn which got his opponents to fold. Thrope flashed the {4-Clubs} for trips before he mucked and took down the pot.

Try as You Might Against Tryba

Level 3 : 300/600, 0 ante

Chris Tryba, fresh off a $10,000 Championship final table in the Stud event, is off to a good start here today. In a recent hand, Tryba was on the button and bet a {J-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop after his opponent checked. A call ensued, followed by the {2-Diamonds} on the turn.

It went check-bet-call before the dealer put out the {10-Spades} on the river. It checked to Tryba, he bet, and his opponent simply folded.
