Kelly Cripples Cajelais

Dan Kelly raised in the hijack and Erik Cajelais put in three bets from the cutoff. Kelly called, and then proceeded to bet out on every street of the {k-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} board. Cajelais called every bet, then mucked when Kelly showed {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for top pair top kicker. Cajelais was knocked down to 1.5 big bets after the hand, and is in desperate need of a double up.

Schneider KOs Two

We missed the hand but saw Michael Schneider raking in the chips as Jeff Shulman and another opponent hit the rail. After winning the pot, Schneider is among the biggest stacks in the field.

Parker First To Break 300,000

Brock Parker just took a monster pot off of Erik Cajelais that has given Parker the chip lead in the tournament. On a flop of {k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, Cajelais bet out. Parker put in a raise, and Cajelais fired back with a raise of his own. Parker decided to just call, and the turn brought the {10-Diamonds}. Cajelais bet out, and again Parker raised. This time, it was Cajelais who slowed down and made the call. When the {5-Hearts} hit the river, Cajelais check-called, then mucked when Parker showed {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a flopped set.

Shchemelev and Arieh Tangle

Vladimir Shchemelev raised from under the gun with Josh Arieh and Brock Parker calling from the blinds. It was checked to Shchemelev on the {K-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop who bet. Arieh check-raised which got Parker to fold but Shchemelev called to see the {5-Hearts} roll off on the turn. Arieh led out this time and Shchemelev folded.

The following hand, Arieh raised on the button and Shchemelev called from the big blind. On the {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop and {5-Spades} turn, Shchemelev check-called Arieh’s bets. Shchemelev led out on the {K-Clubs} river though and Arieh called only to be shown {Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for a flush as Arieh mucked with the two having exchanged pots.

Landfish Catching Negreanu

Action folded to Daniel Negreanu in the cutoff and he raised it up. Steve Landfish was next to act and put in the three-bet. It proved too much for the blinds, but Negreanu made the call to see the flop fall {8-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Negreanu check-called a Landfish bet, as he did on the {9-Spades} turn.

When the {A-Diamonds} appeared on the river, both players checked and Landfish rolled over {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of nine. It proved to be good as Negreanu simply mucked.

Schulman Continues to Crush

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

Nick Schulman was moved to table 275 about 45 minutes ago, and since he has taken his seat he has simply taken over. In a recent pot, Schulman executed a sly check-raise on the river when he made the second nut flush, and got paid off. Schulman is now up to around 290,000, which is the chip lead in the tournament by our counts.

Rosskamm Can Knock ‘Em

A player in middle position raised and Andrew Rosskamm three-bet on the button. The betting got capped between the two as they saw a {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop roll out. The middle position player checked to Rosskamm who bet and received a call. On the {4-Clubs} turn, the action was the same until Rosskamm’s opponent check-raised him. Rosskamm came back with a raise of his own and the player called all in.

Rosskamm: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Rosskamm had flopped top set and had his opponent who couldn’t get away from big slick drawing dead. The river was the {4-Diamonds} to give Rosskamm an unnecessary full house and he eliminated his opponent to chip up.

Haxton Not Afraid Of The Matador

When we came to the table, the chips were being pulled in from the preflop action, and Carlos Mortensen and Isaac Haxton were taking a flop heads up. However, Moretensen decided to bet before the flop even came out. The flop ended up being {a-Clubs}{7-Spades}{q-Hearts}, and Haxton announced a raise. Before he could put his chips in, Mortensen already had a reraise put out. Haxton called, and the turn came the {6-Clubs}. Again, Mortensen bet very quickly, and Haxton raised. Seeing that the jig was up, Mortensen released his hand, and dropped a good chunk of his stack to Haxton.
