Edgar De La Torre Eliminated in 20th Place ($21,933)

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Edgar De La Torre - 20th place
Edgar De La Torre - 20th place

Hassan Babajane opened to 34,000 under the gun, and the table passed all the way around to the small blind where Edgar De La Torre reraised all in for 260,000 total. Eddy Sabat gave it a long look in the small blind, but he eventually folded, and Babajane quickly did the calling to put De La Torre at risk. Flip a coin.

Showdown
Babajane: {6-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}
De La Torre: {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds}

The {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {2-Spades} flop was a good one for De La Torre, pairing up to take a big lead with two to come. The turn {7-Hearts} was dangerously close to a two-outer, and it only served as foreshadowing of the river card. The {6-Spades} dropped like a hammer, and Babajane sets up to tally the knockout.

Both men complimented each other on their play and their final hand, but it's De La Torre who comes up short in this one. He's out in 20th place, good for $21,933.

The players have completed the first two levels of the day and are going on their first 20 minute break of the day.

Stevanovski Falls Down

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We couldn't tell how the money got in, but the last ~175,000 of Robert Stevanovski's chips ended up in the middle before the flop as he held {A-Clubs} {9-Spades}. Alessio Fratti looked him up with {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}, and the {3-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {6-Clubs} flop did nothing to improve Stevanovski's plight. He's out in 22nd place, and we're really clipping along here in the first two levels.

Sabat Steals Watts' Power

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Steven Watts - out
Steven Watts - out

Under the gun, Eddy Sabat raised to 27,000, and Steven Watts three-bet shoved for just less than 260,000 from the button. Sabat made the call with his covering stack, and the race was on.

Showdown
Sabat: {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}
Watts: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}

Sabat's horse ran faster as the board came {7-Spades} {9-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {4-Diamonds}, and he's eliminated Watts in 23rd place.
