Corkins Triples Up

Hoyt Corkins was all in and had two callers on a {4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Spades}{A-Hearts} board. We don't know when he managed to get all in, but we can assume it was early in the hand because he was dangerously short stacked. Corkins showed {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} for trip aces. Both his opponents mucked, but one claimed to have flopped two pair. Corkins had a lot of outs going to the river as any spade would have also won it for him.

Corkins Getting Dangerously Short

On a flop of {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} Randy Propson bet out from the small blind and got calls from David Speicher in the cutoff and Hoyt Corkins on the button.

The turn came {a-Clubs} and Propson bet again. Speicher folded and Corkins called. The river came {4-Hearts} and Propson bet one last time with Corkins calling.

Corkins showed {a-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a very low flush, but Propson was one better with {q-Clubs}{k-Hearts} Corkins mucked and is down to just 7,000.

Three's a Party

Level 1 : 400/800, 0 ante

We don't know the action preflop, but when we got to Table 287 Todd Witteles was putting out a bet on a {Q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop. Witteles received a call from Randy Propson and Brian Faber. The {4-Clubs} on the turn brought another bet from Witteles and a two bet from Propson. Faber, the forgotten horse in this race smooth called, as did Witteles.

A {A-Hearts} on the river allowed Witteles to check, and Propson to bet. Faber called and when action got back to Witteles he acted distraught and visible upset, clearly convinced he had gotten unlucky. Propson flipped over {2-}{2-} and Faber mucked. Witteles upset one moment was all of a sudden happy he didn't stay in the hand, because he would have lost.

You Win Some You Lose Some

In the first hand of this Randy Lew vs. Ivo Donev confrontation, Lew opened from the small and Donev called from the big. The flop came {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Lew c-bet, Donev raised and Lew called. The {a-Hearts} fell on the turn and this time Lew check-called a bet from Donev. Both players checked the {2-Clubs} river and Lew revealed the {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for trips. Donev mucked.

In the very next hand, Lew opened from the button and Donev three-bet from the small. The big folded and Lew called. The flop came {A-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Donev led out. Lew called. Donev proceeded to bet on the {7-Spades} turn and {10-Spades} river and both times Lew just flatted.

Lew showed {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} but Donev showed {A-Spades}{8-Hearts} for the higher kicker and dragged the pot.

"Floor to Table 289"

Level 1 : 400/800, 0 ante

Sean Nguyen put out a bet from the cut off and received a call from Justin Pechie in the big blind. Both players got to see a {6-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop. After Pechie checked, Nguyen put out a bet and Pechie threw a handful of chips in the pot. Pechie had intentions to raise and threw out enough chips to do so, but the dealer failed to notice and thought he simply called the bet from Nguyen. The dealer then burned and turned a {7-}. Pechie calmly told the dealer he had put out a raise and the floor was called. The floor was informed of the situation and declared that the raise counted and that the {7-} would be shuffled back into the deck and not count.

After everything was settled, we were still on the flop and action was on Nguyen who 4 bet into Pechie. Pechie called and we saw a {2-Hearts} appear as a new turn. Pechie then check-called a bet from Nguyen and both players were awarded the {A-Clubs} on the river. Where Pechie this time check-folded after Nguyen bet.

As Nguyen was stacking his chips he asked Pechie if the seven was any good to him. Pechie said it gave him a pair, and Nguyen admitted it gave him an open-ended straight draw. After further conversing between the two players we found out that Pechie had {7-}{9-} and Nguyen held {k-}{9-}.

Propson Losing Chips Early, Faber Taking Them

Brian Faber and Randy Propson have been involved in a few pots together at table 287, and Faber has been getting the best of them.

In this particular hand, Propson raised it up preflop from middle position and got calls from Brian Faber in the cutoff and David Speicher in the big blind.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts} Speicher checked, Propson bet, Faber and Speicher called.

The turn was the {k-Spades}, Speicher again checked it, Propson again bet, Speicher folded, and Faber called.

The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Propson checked to Faber who bet. Propson threw out the reluctant call and Faber turned over {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for the rivered straight. Propson is already down to 26,000 and Faber is already up to 60,000, which is a big change for this early in the day.
