Get Ready for Day 3 of Event #42

Ben Lamb Starts Day 3 As Our Chip Leader
Ben Lamb Starts Day 3 As Our Chip Leader

If you love action and highly-skilled players battling for every chip, you are in the right place. Just the first Event during the 2011 World Series to not make the money by Day 2, we should hit and pop that bubble in the early stages of today's tournament. With 38 players left, we are just two away from everyone getting at least a little slice of the nearly $3.4 million prize pool.

PokerStars Team Pro Humberto Brenes will be in the most trouble today. He starts as our short stack with 70,000. That will be enough for only be seven big blinds and he will likely be looking for a situation early that can start his rush back up to the top of the leaderboard. On the other end of the spectrum is Ben Lamb, who has amassed 809,000 chips. What is even more impressive is that this isn't Lamb's first deep run in an Omaha event this year. He finished just one spot away from the bracelet in Event #31, the $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament. Sam Stein, who bested him in that heads up match, is also still alive in this tournament and sits with a healthy stack of 646,000.

The two friends have a long and talented list of players they will have to outlast though if they want to have a rematch of their battle last week. Among the players still vying for this bracelet are Sami Kelopuro (728,000), Will Failla (528,000), Matt Glantz (400,000), Dario Alioto (206,000) and Davidi Kitai (158,000).

The action starts back up at 3 p.m. local time. As always, stay tuned to PokerNews so you don't miss any of the action!
