Ray Foley Eliminated in 9th Place ($50,140), Phillip Meulyzer Eliminated in 8th Place ($65,452)

Andre Akkari entered the pot with a raise to 55,000 from middle position. From two seats over, Ray Foley moved all in for 336,000 only to have Phillip Meulyzer four-bet shove for 549,000. Akkari asked for a count, and when delivered the news that it was for roughly a third of his stack, Akkari made the call.

Akkari: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Foley: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Meulyzer: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

With Foley in the lead and Meulyzer trailing but playing for a side pot, it would be Akkari that would need to spike if he was to send both players to the rail.

Akkari's rail screamed for what only sounded like an ace, and when the dealer spread a {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop they leapt in joy screaming and chanting as Akkari had now taken a strong lead in a hand that could propel him to be one of the clear chip leaders.

The {Q-Spades} on the turn changed little, and when the {6-Hearts} landed on the river, Akkari celebrated - but not as widely as his rail as they waved the Brazilian flag while chanting and yelling undetectable words.

Although Foley will collect $50,140 for his efforts, he will undoubtably be dissapointed after winning this very event a few years ago. Belgium player Meulyzer will also head to the rail in the double elimination collecting $65,452 for his efforts as Akkari soars to 2,950,000 in chips.
