Finding the Baumswitch

Scott Baumstein open shoved from early position for about 120,000 and quickly was called by a middle position player. He was in a world of hurt.

Baumstein: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

Baumstein began the traditional prayer to the poker gods, he got out of his seat, ready to go and immediately his prayers were answered when the board came {J-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} to double him up.

Akkari-Crash

PokerStars Team Pro Andre Akkari has dropped down to just 40,000 after he got into an altercation holding {A-Hearts}{8-Spades} against the small blind's short stack shove with {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The board came {2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}, the Brazilian made a pair but it wasn't enough to beat his opponent's overpair.

Ritchie Loses Some; Goes Bust Soon After

On a flop of {2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades}, the small blind player checked to Charles Ritchie who fired out 20,000. Doug Yamashiro made the call from the button and the small blind player folded.

The turn came {7-Hearts} and Ritchie announced that he was all in. Ritchie had Yamashiro covered, so this call was for Yamashiro's tournament life. He made the call, flipping up {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and was ahead of Ritchie's {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}.

The river bricked for Ritchie, pairing the board with the {2-Diamonds}. This hand knocked Ritchie down to under 100,000 and he would soon bust a few hands later.

Every Pilgrim Reaches the End of his Journey

Dwyte Pilgrim
Dwyte Pilgrim

Dwyte Pilgrim didn't need to wait too long to get the last of his chips into the middle as it was his rather ironic {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} up against the {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} of Darya Hulyk.

The board was spread {A-Spades}{8-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Spades}{K-Diamonds} to see Pilgrim sent to the rail.
