Ray Foley Eliminated in 9th Place ($50,140), Phillip Meulyzer Eliminated in 8th Place ($65,452)

Andre Akkari entered the pot with a raise to 55,000 from middle position. From two seats over, Ray Foley moved all in for 336,000 only to have Phillip Meulyzer four-bet shove for 549,000. Akkari asked for a count, and when delivered the news that it was for roughly a third of his stack, Akkari made the call.

Akkari: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Foley: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Meulyzer: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

With Foley in the lead and Meulyzer trailing but playing for a side pot, it would be Akkari that would need to spike if he was to send both players to the rail.

Akkari's rail screamed for what only sounded like an ace, and when the dealer spread a {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop they leapt in joy screaming and chanting as Akkari had now taken a strong lead in a hand that could propel him to be one of the clear chip leaders.

The {Q-Spades} on the turn changed little, and when the {6-Hearts} landed on the river, Akkari celebrated - but not as widely as his rail as they waved the Brazilian flag while chanting and yelling undetectable words.

Although Foley will collect $50,140 for his efforts, he will undoubtably be dissapointed after winning this very event a few years ago. Belgium player Meulyzer will also head to the rail in the double elimination collecting $65,452 for his efforts as Akkari soars to 2,950,000 in chips.

One For Sitron

Play folded around to Nicolas Chouity in the small blind who raised to 51,000. Scott Sitron made the call from the big blind and the two players saw a flop of {Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Both players checked and the turn fell {8-Spades}. Chouity fired out a bet of 77,000 and Sitron quickly announced that he was all in. Chouity shook his head and threw his cards away, awarding Sitron the pot.

Carmody Folds River

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Nicolas Chouity opened to 53,000 and Matthew Carmody made the call from the big blind to see a {10-Spades}{J-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop fall.

Both players checked as the {10-Clubs} landed on the turn and Chouity fired a delayed continuation-bet of 60,000. Carmody made the call, but when the {5-Clubs} landed on the river, Carmody check-folded to a 120,000-chip Chouity bet.

Zachary Hall Eliminated in 7th Place ($86,434)

Zachary Hall - 7th Place
Zachary Hall - 7th Place

From the cutoff, Jacob Naquin tossed in two green 25,000-denomination chips amounting to a raise of 50,000. With the action on Zachary Hall on the button, he three-bet to 128,000.

The action returned to Naquin who moved all in as Hall instantly made the call for his roughly 540,000-chip stack.

Naquin: {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Hall: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}

With Hall in great shape, seeing the dealer drop a {4-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop put a distraught look on his face as it would be he that would need to spike a two-outer to remain alive in the tournament.

The {A-Diamonds} on the turn changed little, and when the {3-Clubs} landed on the river, Hall was forced to hit the rail in 7th place for a $86,434 payday as Naquin moves to a little over 4.1 million in chips.

Camordy Pushes Back On River

Matthew Carmody made it 60,000 preflop and was three-bet by Andre Akkari to 115,000. Action folded back around to Carmody who made the call.

The flop fell {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and the action went check-check. Carmody checked once again when the {10-Clubs} hit the turn. Akkari fired out 140,000 and Carmody called. The {8-Spades} rivered and Carmody checked a third time. Akkari bet 275,000 and Carmody quickly made it 1,000,000.

After some thinking Akkari pushed his cards slowly into the muck and Carmody was able to win the pot.
