For many amateur players, making Day 2 and getting that much closer to the money is the ultimate sign of success in a tournament. There's nothing quite like bagging chips and leaving the casino knowing that you outlasted the majority of players in the field and that you get to come back the next day and continue your quest for a bracelet and a huge payday. For many, the beginnings of a Day 2 are also make it or break it time. Players will end Day 1 with the shortest of short stacks just so they can come back on Day 2 and maybe, just maybe, go on a super-heater and make a deep run.

Definitely look for lots of eliminations in the opening levels as the blinds continue to rise and those short stacks to take their shots early and often
