Bye Bye Brett

We caught up with the action just as Deborah Worley-Roberts and Helena Brett were getting it all into the middle. Worley-Roberts had Brett slightly covered.

Worley-Roberts: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Brett: {K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The board came {6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Worley-Roberts' ace-high was good enough to scoop and send Brett to the rail.

Baumer Plows Through Cranford

Christy Cranford opened to 8,000 from early position and found one caller in Rita Baumer from middle position. Everyone else folded.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Cranford quickly c-bet for 8,000. Just as quickly, Baumer announced a raise to 20,000 and slid out a stack of yellow chips. Cranford deliberated for a bit but decided to call.

The turn brought a {5-Hearts} and Cranford checked to Baumer, who chucked in a bet of 30,000. Cranford waved the white flag and mucked her hand.

Cranford has slid to 210,000. Baumer, on the other hand, is up to 175,000.

Estes Eliminated

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We missed the preflop action, but Rita Estes and Maureen Merdinger went heads up to a flop of {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Estes open shoved for her last 15,000, and Merdinger snap called.

Merdinger: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Estes: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Estes needed some help to survive, and she got some help when the {3-Hearts} hit the turn, giving her a flush draw. However, she bricked out, as the river came the {4-Clubs}, and Estes was sent to the rail. On the other end, Merdinger is back over the 100,000 mark.

Jett Flies To A Double Up

Karina Jett dropped down to about 24,000 when she finally decided to make a stand. After Xiu Deng raised on the button, Jett moved all in for the big blind. After Deng got a count, she made the call, and found out she was ahead.

Jett: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Deng: {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}

The flop bricked for Jett, coming {4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. However, she spiked the {j-Hearts} on the river, and would now need to dodge just an ace to survive. The river brought out the {8-Hearts}, and Jett got the much needed double, though she is still well below average.

The Man Takes Out Baker

Lele Baker open-shoved all-in for her last 20,000 and was called by Christy Cranford on the button. Jonathan Epstein decided to re-raise to 39,000 from the button and Cranford thought for a bit before folding.

Baker: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Epstein: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board came {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Baker was eliminated. Epstein is sitting with 160,000.

Baker Sends Schoenberg Home

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Erica Schoenberg was getting low on chips, and decided to move all in in late position. Amanda Baker was the only caller, and when the cards were revealed, Baker saw that she was in the lead.

Baker: {a-}{j-}
Schoenberg: {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

The flop brought Baker an ace, and Schoenberg was never able to catch up. Baker claimed the knockout, and boosted her chip stack to 250,000.

Kearney Crippled, Then Eliminated

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Barbara Kearney was one of the top 10 stacks in the room just about 30 minutes ago, but she lost most of her chips in this hand, then was eliminated a short time later. We caught the action on the turn, with the board reading {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Kearney bet 25,000, and was called by her opponent, Gloutnez Genevine. When the {7-Diamonds} hit the river, Kearney shoved all in, having Genevine covered. Genevine made the call, and showed {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} for an overpair to the board. Kearney just had {a-}{9-}, and that pot knocked her all the way down to 20,000. She was eliminated a few hands later.
