Franca Doubles

Hugo Franca was another one of our early Day 2 chip leaders who fell off in the middle levels, but after doubling up, he is climbing back towards an average stack.

Franca and another player got it all in preflop, Franca holding {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} vs. the {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} of his opponent. The board ran out {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Franca knocked out the player and moved up to 188,000 in the process

Volpe Hits The Rail

Paul Volpe
Paul Volpe

Paul Volpe was our big overnight chip leader coming into the combined Day 2 with 124,500, but after some big lost pots early on in the day he has been grinding a short to medium stack for the last five or six hours. He hung around for quite a while, but has now hit the rail.

A player in middle position raised it up to 12,500 and Volpe moved all in from the cutoff for 114,500. The middle position player made the call and showed {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} vs. the {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} of Volpe. The board ran out {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Volpe's hand didn't get it done. This marks his fifth cash of the series, but the online superstar has fallen short of the final table every time. That being said, he will certainly be a name to watch come Main Event time.

Andres Hitting the Heights

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Anibol Andres has just eliminated a player with {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} against {A-}{9-} with the board coming {3-}{3-}{5-}{4-}{5-}. Apparently the short stack's friends were none too happy and accused Andres of slowrolling with some, perhaps harsh language involved.

Eischens Gifted Another Stack

Terrance Eischens has run it up to the top of our counts here in the last few levels of the day, and people seem to be continuing to gift him their stacks.

A player open shoved all in for his last 60,000 or so chips and Eischens called him down with {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and the all in player showed {q-Hearts}{6-Spades}. The board ran out {7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Eischens scooped his chips to move up to 735,000.

LaGarde and Lykov Sparring

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

It's become a personal battle between Matt LaGarde and Max Lykov as they're tangling in several pots. First Lykov three-bet LaGarde's opening raise which followed with a call before the Russian won with a bet on the {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop. Soon after it was LaGarde applying the pressure after Lykov made it 27,000, he was met with a reraise to 70,000 for the former to win the pot this time.

From Robusto To Busto In No Time

Vincent Jacques
Vincent Jacques

Vincent Jacques, who less than four levels ago had a nice chip lead here in Event #54: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em has now hit the rail. Jacques, gave away most of his chips in a huge hand against Stanislav Alekhin (second in chips with 710,000) but just lost the rest after he went all in preflop with {q-Spades}{j-Spades} and was called down by {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

The board ran out {2-Spades}{a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Jacques went from chip leader to out in not very much time at all.

LaGarde Back In The Upper Echelon

Matt LaGarde
Matt LaGarde

On a board of {2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, Matt LaGarde bet 60,000 into an already sizable pot and got a call. He showed {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} and it was good for the win.

After the hand, LaGarde is up to 520,000 currently sits third in chips.

Anibol Kingdom

Wow.

Anibol Andres raised all in from UTG for about 500,000 and another stack snap-called off his chips with {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}, Andres showed {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and got there on a {5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} board to massively increase his chip stack and (it looks like) take the chip lead.
