Just like that, we are already down to 476 players (468 are paid), and with cries of "SEAT OPEN" still ringing throughout the Amazon, we should be on the money bubble and see it burst very very soon. Stay tuned
We are now in hand-for-hand play, which means we may have a money announcement momentarily.
We've just had an announcement that all remaining players are now in the money.
Everyone has now had to take off their headphones as we head into the money.
It's a bit of a tough looking table on Purple 364 here in the Amazon Room, as well as Jeff Madsen and Terrence Chan, they've been joined by Martin Jacobson. The Swede may not be well known here in the US, but this year he was one of the star performers on the EPT after he finished second in both Vilamoura and Deauville as well as fourth in Berlin in the past 9 months.

We came into a hand where our overnight chip leader Paul Volpe was putting some big money into the pot.
An under-the-gun player raised it up to 2,400 preflop and was re-raised by Paul Volpe in the small blind up to 7,300. The player called and the two saw the flop. Volpe led out with a bet of 9,200 and his opponent tanked for nearly five minutes before finally calling. The turn came and and Volpe pushed all in which put his opponent all in for his last 20,000 or so. The player instantly called and showed for the flopped set. Volpe was behind with , but the river was what he was looking for as the dealer peeled off the to give Volpe a better set and the win.
Volpe told us he lost a set over set hand earlier in the level to drop him to 100,000 or so, but now he is back up to around 140,000.

Terrence Chan is adding to his stack, he's just eliminated a short stack while holding against when the board came - making a straight on the river to bust one of the many players now busting out in the money.

Sometimes people are knocked in standard spots, sometimes it's a sick beat, and sometimes the guy just flops the straight flush against your overpair.
On a flop of a player with pushed all in and got a call from a player who tabled for the straight flush. Obviously, the player with kings was drawing dead, but just to put the nail in the coffin the river came an for the six card straight flush. Not a bad day at the office.
