Learn the Terms: the Pitch, the Chuck and the Dump

Level 10

2-7 Triple Draw

David "Bakes" Baker raised from the cutoff seat and Sorel Mizzi reraised from the button. Baker made the call and the two went to the "pitch," which, according to Maria "Maridu" Mayrinck, is the name for the first draw. She claims that her and Baker came up with these terms while he was teaching her deuce-to-seven. Baker drew three and Mizzi drew one. After the pitch, Baker check-called a bet from Mizzi.

For the next draw, it's called the "chuck." Baker drew one and Mizzi drew one. Baker then bet and Mizzi raised. Baker called.

On the final draw, or better known as the "dump" as Maridu called it, both players stood pat. Baker then check-called a bet from Mizzi.

Mizzi turned over number two with the {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and Baker mucked. Baker is down to 76,000 now.

Robert Williamson III raised in the cutoff, Mike Matusow three-bet shoved for 38,600 on the button, and Williamson III called.

Williamson III: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Matusow: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Matusow remained ahead after the flop ({4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}), and the turn ({a-Spades}), but the {k-Diamonds} spiked on the river to give Williamson III a pair of kings.

"F*** my life," Matusow tweeted after the hand.

Bari Binks a Double

Level 9

No-Limit Hold'em

According to a fellow reporter, Allen Bari just doubled through 2011 World Series of Poker Player of the Year leader Ben "Benba" Lamb.

Bari held {k-}{j-} against the {8-}{8-} of Lamb. There was a {q-} on the flop and then a {10-} on the turn to give Bari an open-ended straight draw. He didn't make the straight, but a {j-} hit the river to give him a winning pair of jacks.

Bari won the hand, and doubled to nearly 80,000 chips.
