Phil Hellmuth: (X)(X) / / (X)
Vladimir Shchemelev: (X)(X) / / (X)
Hellmuth completed, Shchemelev raised, and Hellmuth called. Hellmuth led on fourth street, and Shchemelev called.
On fifth, Shchemelev made the best board, and led out. Hellmuth raised, Shchemelev re-raised all in and Hellmuth called.
Hellmuth:
Shchemelev:
Sixth street changed nothing for either player, and Shchemelev turned over the as soon as it was dealt to him on seventh. Hellmuth turned over the , giving him a better pair of kings. Neither player had a low, so Hellmuth scooped the pot and eliminated Shchemelev from the tournament.
Hellmuth stood up, clapped his hands with excitement, and gave a hearty fist pump. Shchemelev on the other hand was speaking to the dealers and the entire table in Russian, and while we couldn't understand him, he didn't sound too pleased.
Hopefully $168,529 will cheer him up - that's what he'll receive for his 10th place finish.
Phil Hellmuth: (X)(X) / -- FOLDED
Scott Seiver: (X)(X) /
They're playing razz over on the not-quite-final final table. In this one Hellmuth completed and Seiver called, then Hellmuth bet fourth and Seiver called again. On fifth Seiver was the one betting and Hellmuth calling, and on sixth street Hellmuth folded to Seiver's bet. Hellmuth showed his down cards -- -- as he folded.
Seiver has 1.86 million now, and Hellmuth right about 2 million.
Scott Seiver: (X)(X) / / (X)
Minh Ly: (X)(X) / / (X)
Ben Lamb: (X)(X) / / (X)
After the trio had already put in a few bets by fifth street, it checked to Lamb who bet and the other two called. Then on sixth it checked to Seiver who bet and Lamb and Ly called.
On seventh Ly bet, Lamb called, Seiver raised, then Ly reraised. Lamb folded and after tanking for some time Seiver folded as well.
Seiver drops back to 1.225 million after that one. Meanwhile, Ly -- whose chips are variously stacked at the moment -- looks to have around 5.9 million and a sizable chip lead.
Ahmed completed, Lester raised, and Ahmed called. Lester led out on fourth street, Ahmed called, and then checked on fifth. Lester bet, Ahmed raised enough to put Lester all in and he called.
Ahmed:
Lester:
Ahmed drew two aces ( and ) on sixth and seventh, but Lester drew two tens ( and ) to make two pair, doubling him to 1.28 million chips.
On third, Glantz completed and Ahmed called. On fourth, Glantz checked, Ahmed bet, and Glantz called. On fifth, Glantz checked, Ahmed bet, and Glantz called. Both then checked the final two streets.
Glantz showed for jacks and eights and no low, and Ahmed mucked.
Phil Hellmuth opened with a raise to 110,000 from middle position, and it folded to Ben "Benba" Lamb on the button who announced he was reraising all in for about 720,000. It folded back to Hellmuth who let his hand go.
Lamb showed , providing grins all around for the tired players. (Save one, obv.)
