Gross Loses Flip, Then Wins Flip

Level 66 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

The last two hands in the Jeffrey Gross vs. Brian Hastings match have been quite eventful.

First, down to about 120,000 on his first lammer, Gross called all in from the big when Hastings shoved on the button with the bigger stack. Hastings held {7-}{7-} against Gross' {K-}{Q-} and a when a {7-} hit the flop, Gross was unable to catch up.

He decided to use both of his lammers, reloading to 640,000. From there he proceeded to get it in on the following hand with {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} against Hastings' {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. The board rolled out {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}, safe for Gross to survive and double to 1,280,000 (with no lammers). Hastings, meanwhile, cashed in his second lammer and is back to 320,000 with one lammer behind.

Andrew Robl - 7th place

On the final hand of the short match between Andrew Robl and Jason Mo we caught the action on the flop reading {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. Mo bet 70,000 and Robl opted to make the call. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Mo bet 185,000 after which Robl called once again. On the river the {8-Diamonds} Mo moved all in quickly and after some tanking Robl made the call. Mo tabled {Q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for trip queens and Robl mucked his cards.

Within 30 minutes the match was over and Jason Mo will be playing Brock Parker in the Final Four, his match ended in almost exactly the same hand.

Parker Starts Off Swinging

Level 65 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Brock Parker started off by raising to 21,000 and Michael Drummond opted to three-bet him to 58,000. Parker put in the four-bet to 111,000 after which Drummond moved all in. He had Parker covered by just 20,000 chips and we got so see a massive pot right of the bat.

Parker turned over {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} against Drummond's {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and we had a classic coin flip situation. The board ran out {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} giving Parker the win in this first big pot. Drummond opted to use a rebuy chip and he has one more left behind while Parker has 620,000 chips with two rebuy chips behind.
