Massive Lead For Lichtenberger

Level 56 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Andrew Lichtenberger
Andrew Lichtenberger

Andrew Lichtenberger has a massive chip lead over Douglas Polk and he seems to be just a couple of hands away from making the final 16. On a {4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} board we caught the action when Lichtenberger check-called a 27,600 bet. The river was the {5-Hearts} and Polk bet 76,600. Lichtenberger moved all in and after tanking for quite some time Polk called. Lichtenberger showed {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for the flush and he doubled up.

Polk was left very short after this hand and got it all in with {7-Diamonds}{9-Spades} against Lichtenberger's {J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. The board ran out {9-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} giving Polk quads and a double up. The very next hand he doubled up again when Lichtenberger raised to 22,000 and Polk put his 24,600 at risk. Lichtenberger called and showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} against {J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. The board ran out {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{J-Spades} giving Polk another double up.

After these two double ups Polk is still short with 49,200 against Lichtenberger's 430,800.
