Huck Seed's Adventures On The Bubble

Huck Seed
Huck Seed

It's been quite a roller coaster for Huck Seed on the bubble so far. First, he was in the big blind for 1/3 of his stack, and called a raise on the button. The flop came down {q-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, and Seed committed the rest of his chips. His opponent called, and Seed was in great shape.

Seed: {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Opponent: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The turn and river came {3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}, and Seed secured the much needed double up.

On the very next hand, we caught Seed up against an opponent, with Seed betting on the flop, {10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, and the turn, the {2-Clubs}. He was called both times, and the river was the {3-Diamonds}. Seed checked to his oppponet, who put out a bet of 3,000, which represented Seed's remaining stack. He went deep into the tank, thinking for at least three minutes while every other table was done. Finally, he released his hand, and his opponent showed {a-}{5-} for a straight. This dropped Seed back down to 2,900, and he's once again the short stack in the room.

Also, level 13 has ended, but the staff will wait until the money bubble has burst to raise the level.

Huck Seed: Bubble Boy

As we just mentioned, it's been an up and down bubble for Huck Seed, so it seems fitting that he bubbled in a similar fashion. It folded around to Seed, and he committed his last 2,800 chips. The big blind was the only caller, and when the cards were flipped, Seed was miles ahead.

Seed: {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Opponent: {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}

Seed offered a few short words of commentary as the hand progressed. When the cards were flipped, he said "domination". When the flop came down {3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, he said "gutter ball". His opponent had picked up an inside straight draw, meaning an eight or nine would secured the knockout. The {8-Clubs} hit the turn, and Seed could only hope for a chop. The river was the {5-Spades}, and in Seed's words, "bubble boy". Indeed, Seed is the last player in the tournament to walk away without a pay day.

Haxton Hacks Them Up

Isaac Haxton was in the big blind when an early position raised it up. He went with a call and the dealer would spread three cards along the felt.

Flop: {8-Clubs}{q-Spades}{7-Spades}

On the flop, Haxton checked and then raised when his opponent flicked a bet onto the felt. The {j-Spades} came on the turn and this time Haxton led. His opponent called and the {6-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Again Haxton bet and his opponent called. Haxton turned over {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and his opponent said, "nice call."

With the cards in the muck, Haxton stacked up his new chips.

Ask and You Shall Recieve

Action folded all the way to a short stack in the small blind, and he limped in, leaving himself just 1,600 left. Humberto Brenes was in the big blind, and he started thinking about his decision, when his opponent said, "I would love to be busted by you." Brenes said "ok I raise!" and his opponent called the rest of his chips off.

Opponent: {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Brenes: {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Brenes asked the dealer for an ace, and the dealer obliged, as the flop came {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. The {2-Clubs} on the turn locked up the hand for Brenes, and the meaningless river was the {9-Spades}. After the hand, Brenes is up to 48,000.

Queen Bust Racener

John Racener got the rest of his short stack in against Alex Queen and another player on the flop, which read {3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. Both players checked the {8-Diamonds} on the turn, and the river came the {10-Hearts}. Queen bet, and his opponent folded. Racener was already getting his things ready when Queen showed the {j-Spades}{10-Spades} for trip tens. He mucked his hand, and headed to the payout desk. On the other hand, Alex Queen is now one of the chip leaders at over 100,000.
