Bowker & Eames Progress, Nine Tables Remain

Kyle Bowker took care of his table and John Eames just defeated Tony Cousineau to win his table.

Cousineau was short-stacked and called when Eames pushed from the button.

Mercier Out, Others Advance

After a few double ups it looked like the momentum was on Jason Mercier's side, but as we walked away after one of his doubles he went bust.

A handful of other players have completed for the day and are advancing, among these are Jose Sernatos who came back from a two to one chip disadvantage is very excited to not only to be moving on to day two, but also to be on pokernews for the first time.

With a series of raises preflop we saw Mercier get pushed all in by his opponent and call. Mercier held {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} while his opponent had {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. A {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} board ran out and now Mercier is now about even chips.
