Bowker & Eames Progress, Nine Tables Remain

Kyle Bowker took care of his table and John Eames just defeated Tony Cousineau to win his table.

Cousineau was short-stacked and called when Eames pushed from the button.

Cousineau; {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Eames: {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The board ran {6-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} to make Eames a straight.

Consineau, ever the gentleman, said, "Nice catch" and shook his hand.

Just nine tables remain now.

Mercier Out, Others Advance

After a few double ups it looked like the momentum was on Jason Mercier's side, but as we walked away after one of his doubles he went bust.

A handful of other players have completed for the day and are advancing, among these are Jose Sernatos who came back from a two to one chip disadvantage is very excited to not only to be moving on to day two, but also to be on pokernews for the first time.

Mecier Doubles Again

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Jason Mercier has just doubled up again.

With a series of raises preflop we saw Mercier get pushed all in by his opponent and call. Mercier held {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} while his opponent had {J-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. A {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} board ran out and now Mercier is now about even chips.
