Wheeler Doubles Up Shorty

Jason Wheeler
Jason Wheeler

It was battle of the blinds as a player in the small blind raised it to 9,000 preflop. Jason Wheeler in the big blind moved all in effectively putting the small blind all in. A call was made and cards were turned over.

Wheeler: {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Opponent: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

We were off to the races with a {j-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Hearts} flop giving Wheeler's opponent the early lead. A {Q-Diamonds} on the turn gave Wheeler a handful of outs, as now any queen or ten would give Wheeler the best hand. Alas an {8-Diamonds} on the river insured the double up, and sent the 115,000 pot to Wheeler's opponent.
