Event 22: $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball
Day 1 Started
We are around about one third of the way through the 2012 World Series of Poker already. Today's 5:00pm start-time event is the $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball.
This is one of the more niche events and last year it attracted 309 entrants. Lenny Martin overcame Justin Bonomo heads-up to claim the $189,818 top prize. We're expecting a similar number this year and as it's a limit event we expect some of the players to be "double-dipping" with the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em event that started earlier in the day. Then of course there's those like Phil Hellmuth and Phil Ivey who are at the final table of the $2,500 Seven Card Razz and $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em events respectively.
The dealers are being readied and reminded of the rules of this game in preparation. Remember dealers, an ace always plays high in this game!

Kevin, the tournament director, has welcomed players and got this show on the road.
We will be playing eight 60-minute levels today. There will be a 15-minute break after every two levels except after level four where they'll be a 30-minute break. That should takes us through to a 2:15am finish.

Talk at table #350 is all about Unions rather than poker right now. Nikolai Yakovenko, Allen Kessler, Bill Chen et al went from unions all the way to how socialism doesn't work in practice.
Poker was still being played though, and Kessler took a pot off Chen with .
Kessler raised from under the gun and Chen called out of the small blind. Both drew two cards, one card, and one card on each draw. Both players checked after the first draw, Kessler bet after the second draw, and Chen led after the third draw. "Oh, I missed" said Chen after his last bet was called. He opened .

The poker variant of 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball is a relatively young game that has emerged in the last 15 years or so. It's steadily growing in popularity and offers a freshness after all the Hold'em events in the schedule.
But how's it played we hear you ask. Here is our guide on the rules:
