One for the Dutchies!

Since the Dutch national football team are bringing misery to their people with their early display at Euro 2012, it's a good job they also have Vincent van der Fluit to bring them cheer. He took down the $1,500 PLO event earlier in the series for $265,211, and he's going along very nicely in this event to.

Vladimir Shchmelev limped in from first position before Danny Noam moved all-in for his last 900. Van der Fluit called but Shchmelev had other ideas and raised. Call.

Noam and Van der Fluit drew one and Shchmelev stood pat. The betting action went a little crazy here as Shchmelev bet 1,200 and three-bet 3,600. Van der Fluit raised to 2,400 and four-bet to 4,800. Shchmelev called.

Both of them stood pat and Noam drew two, which prompted Brent Roberts to offer Noam good luck.

Shchmelev check-called two more bets from the Dutchman and watched him open {4-}{2-}{5-}{3-}{7-}. I think Shchmelev swore in Russian at what he was seeing and mucked his hands. Noam had already mucked by that point and left his seat.

Tricky Line Doesn't Work for Bakes

David "Bakes" Baker and Josh Arieh tangled with the latter coming out on top.

Bakes two-bet from under the gun and called when Arieh three-bet from the next seat. Both players drew two and Bakes bet-called a raise before he drew one and Arieh stood pat.

Bakes check-called a bet and drew another one, with Arieh stood pat again. Bakes then led again but folded when Arieh raised him.

News in Brief

  • Von Altizer's had a great start to day two and nearly doubled her stack already. She raised from under-the-gun and barreled into Brian Hastings who called from the big blind. Hastings stuck around and check-called two bets before he check-folded to the third bet from Altizer.
  • Stuart Rutter is moving on up. We caught up with him betting from the button and the big blind check-calling. Rutter opened {7-}{2-}{6-}{8-}{4-} and raked in the pot as his opponent folded.

More Than a Double for Bobby

Jean-Robert Bellande two-bet from the cut-off and Brian Tate three-bet from the small blind. Scott Clements (big blind) and Bellande called.

Bellande drew two and both his opponents drew one before all three checked. All three drew one and Tate led out, only to be called by Bellande. Tate stood pat and Bellande drew one final card. Tate led one more and Bellande said, "Just enough to pay you off. I call."

He opened {5-}{6-}{4-}{8-}{2-} and Tate mucked.
